Feelings from the Donkey
On the outskirts of Jerusalem the donkey waited.
Not especially brave, or filled with understanding, he stood and waited, tied to a tree as usual, he waited.
Then he let himself be led away.
Then he let the stranger mount.
Never had he seen such crowds! And I wonder if he at all imagined what was to happen.
Still, he was what he had always been: small, dark, obedient.
I hope, finally, he felt brave.
I hope, finally, he loved the man who rode so lightly upon him, as he lifted one dusty hoof and stepped, as he had to, forward.
EASTER CHICKS
Easter Chicks have raised an amazing £300 for Francis House Children’s Hospice. Thanks to everyone who either knitted them, bought them, or donated some eggs.
We are having a Lenten Study Group here in our Church, on the four Fridays leading up to Good Friday.
These will follow Friday Coffee Morning at 11.30, until 12.30pm, and will be on the following Fridays:
6th March, 13th March, 20th March and 27th March.
During Lent we have been encouraged to do the 10/15/40 challenge.
That is – 10 Seconds a day, to say the 15 word prayer, for 40 days of Lent.
The Prayer is: Gracious God, today is there someone you want me to connect with outside the church?
It’s Simple: Pray, notice, be open. Watch for a chance to connect. Share what you notice At: [email protected]
50 Club Draw
Congratulations! to the winner for January, who is Roy Miller.
We need a few more members, if you would like to join the club, please see Brenda Bakes.
More members always welcome, £1 per week.
FLOWERS IN CHURCH
There is a new Flower Rota on the wall in the kitchen. If you would like to place some flowers in church to mark a special Sunday, please enter your name on the appropriate date on the calendar.
If you are unable to actually go and buy those flowers and arrange them in church, then this can be done for you. Please speak to an Elder.
