Apologies for the cancellation of the AGM at short notice – it will be rearranged for a date in the next few weeks.
Heyside Service of Thanksgiving
At 3.00 pm on Sunday 7th May there will be a Service of Thanksgiving. This will be an opportunity to share memories, to offer our thanks, and to place our future firmly in God’s hands.
You are warmly invited to come and share this special occasion with us and to stay afterwards to chat over a brew.
The final service at Heyside will be an ordinary service for the current fellowship on the following Sunday 14th May.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 9th May at 2pm. This will be a joint meeting with St Paul’s Ladies, and the speaker will be Rev. Ruth Wollaston, the Oldham Town Centre Chaplain. Refreshments will be an afternoon tea provided by Lilian Ogden, to celebrate her 70th birthday, and Margaret Helliwell. Normal price of £2 for the whole afternoon, all are welcome.
Christian Aid Week Coffee Mornings will be held on the following dates:
Monday 15th May at St James
Tuesday 16th May at St Paul’s
Wednesday 17th May at St Joseph’s
Thursday 18th May at the Salvation Army
Friday 19th May at URC.
from 10am – 12 noon each day with a short pause for prayer and reflection around 11am.

Pauline is very grateful for the support she is getting from church members during her year as President of Inner Wheel. She is organising a day out on Wednesday 17th May . The trip is to Gawthorpe Hall and Boundary Mill and will cost between £10 and £15 depending on numbers on the coach. For more details see Pauline and then sign the list on the noticeboard .
British Legion Coffee Morning
We have another Coffee Morning at the British Legion on Saturday 20th May. Items for raffle and tombola welcome, also home baked on the day.
Big Days Out
In addition to the North West Synod’s Big Day Out as mentioned
below, Central House Synod are also organising one on 20th May at Warwick Castle. See Hazel for more details.
The ever-popular Big Day Out organised by the North West
URC Synod, will be on Saturday 8th July, at the Southport Convention Centre. Tickets for adults £10. Those aged 16 and under are free. A poster and booking form are on the notice board. As always, it will be a great day!
